GMU Korea’s 2nd International English Speech Competition successfully concludes


Jacob Thompson and Hee-jae Yeo won the 1st place in the “2nd International English Speech Competition,” a debate competition held at George Mason University (GMU) Korea on August 4. Twelve high school students from the U.S. and Korea came to GMU Korea for a week from July 31 to August 4 for the event. Paired into groups of two, Jacob Thompson and Hee-jae Yeo, Emma McCaleb and Jin-won Park debated on the resolution “The US should look to South Korea when addressing its gun violence problem” in the final round. Winners have the opportunity to take part in the George Mason Institute of Forensics USA Camp.
