Fairfax Academic Resources

Once approved to transition to the Fairfax campus, students are strongly recommended to consider using the resources available at the Fairfax campus to support their academic success:

Academic Calendar

Check out the academic calendar of the Mason Fairfax campus and plan your activities accordingly. Note that the spring semester in Fairfax starts in January.

Mason Korea Academic Affairs office will change your time ticket setting before the priority registration dates so that you can register for classes offered by the Fairfax campus. You may contact the Mason Korea Academic Affairs office at mkaa@gmu.edu for questions regarding registration time tickets.

Academic Advisors at the Fairfax Campus

The following advisors are designated advisors to support Mason Korea students. They understand the Mason Korea curriculum. Please feel free to reach out to them to discuss your academic plan.

Writing Center

Writing Center offers free writing support to Mason students, faculty, and staff. Accomplished graduate and undergraduate students provide our consulting services and deliver our workshops. The Center works with writers through all stages of the writing process from brainstorming and organizing to revising and polishing.

OSCAR

Office of Student Scholarship, Creative Activities, and Research (OSCAR) support students who are interested in doing a scholarly, creative, or research project with a faculty mentor. OSCAR helps students find a mentor, fund their project, write a presentation, travel to present the results of their project, or take a research course.

Learning Services

Learning Services provides a variety of free, experience-based learning opportunities for the Mason Community through one-on-one academic coaching, academic success workshops, and online resources. Academic coaches are available to meet with students to discuss academic goals, develop study plans, and demonstrate different study strategies. Coaches provide guidance related to time management, avoiding procrastination, improving concentration, motivation, goal setting, reading strategies, and exam preparation strategies. Academic coaching is free to all Mason students.
