This course teaches an intermediate level of microeconomics, which is the second-semester microeconomics for undergraduate economics majors.  Non-econ majors can also take this course for better understanding of microeconomic theories.  Selected topics include consumers’ choice, firms’ choice, economics of public sector, and several types of market structure.  Although graphical understanding is essential like in the principles class, more math will be employed here throughout the semester.  Pre-requisites are the principles of micro and macro (Econ 103 &104) and basic calculus (Math 113 or 108).

Basic factors of price and distribution theory: analysis of demand, costs of production and supply relationships, and price and output determination under various market structures. Limited to three attempts.
Recommended Prerequisite: ECON 103 and 104 and MATH 108 or 113.
