For Incoming Students

Entrance Scholarship

George Mason University Korea offers Entrance Scholarships ranging from USD 1,000 to USD 15,000. The Entrance Scholarship is renewable for up to six (6) full-time semesters on the Korea campus, contingent on the recipient remaining in good standing with the University (e.g., academic, student conduct, financial) and maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above. All applicants are automatically considered for the Entrance Scholarship.

For Continuing Students

Mason Merit Scholarship

At George Mason University, our goal is to promote academic success. To acknowledge those who demonstrate such merit, we provide the annual Mason Merit Scholarship each spring to students who demonstrate continuous improvement and strive for the highest academic achievements. The Mason Merit Scholarship amount is USD 2,000 per semester, for up to two (2) semesters. Applicants must be in good standing with the University (e.g., academic, student conduct, financial) and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 at the time of application. Mason Leadership Scholarship

As an institution of higher education, we take pride in knowing that our students will become the leaders of tomorrow. Many leaders attribute their successes to their past experiences, such as overcoming adversities during their lives. To help facilitate the growth of our future leaders, we provide the annual Mason Leadership Scholarship each spring based on a student’s leadership history and potential. The Mason Leadership Scholarship amount is USD 2,000 per semester, for up to two (2) semesters. Applicants must be in good standing with the University (e.g., academic, student conduct, financial) and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 at the time of application. Resident Advisor Program

The Resident Advisor is a live-in paraprofessional staff member responsible for cultivating a safe and inclusive community experience for all George Mason University Korea students occupying Incheon Global Campus Housing during the academic year. Each Resident Advisor will be assigned to manage her or his respective housing floor. To reward service in the Resident Advisors Program, we provide a stipend each semester to contributing continuing students. For more information on the Resident Advisor Program, click here.

Chingu Program

“Chingu” in Korean means “friend” in English. To help international students transition to life in Songdo and George Mason University Korea, the Chingu Program connects new international students with continuing students. This helps provide each new international student with a friendly face, helping hand, and their first Songdo friendship, which may make a world of difference to a new student. To reward service in the Chingu Program, we provide tuition assistance each semester to contributing continuing students. For more information on the Chingu Program, click here.

Stay Mason Fund

The Stay Mason Student Support Fund assists matriculated George Mason students who are at risk of not continuing their education due to unexpected financial situations. The fund is for all students – undergraduate and graduate, full-time and part-time – enrolled in degree-seeking programs. The Stay Mason Student Support Fund is designed to provide temporary, short-term, financial assistance to students who are managing demanding academic requirements while struggling with debilitating financial circumstances. The Stay Mason Student Support Fund is not intended to provide ongoing relief for recurring expenses, and the financial assistance is not a loan that is expected to be repaid.Applicants must be eligible to be enrolled during the semester for which the funding is being requested and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0. The number of students who can be served by the Stay Mason Student Support Fund is subject to the availability of funds.
