Dr. Eunsil Hong is a native of Seoul, born and raised in Korea. She has been teaching Korean to foreign students since 2002. Her research interests include Korean for academic purposes, speech communication, speaking test, curriculum development and instructional technology.
She is an author/co-author of numerous textbooks for teaching Korean as foreign language -Sejong Korean Conversation 1, 2, Presentation skills, Skills of listening lectures, Sungkyun Korean 4, 5 and so on. She recently co-developed Korean courses for K-MOOC and Coursera. Coursera Korean course is ranked as one of the 100 most popular lectures among platforms such as Coursera, EdX, FutureLearn and Swayam.
She serves as editorial board member at Journals of Speech Communicaiton, Journal of Bangyo Language and Literature, Korean Language and Literature in International Context for Korean Education.
