Harold Pyon has a long history of public service. This includes serving on the Board of Directors of the Fairfax County Economic Recovery Commission, the Annandale Chambers of Commerce, the Fairfax County Park Authority Board, as Vice Chairman of the Fairfax County Small Business Commission and the Chairman of the Asian American Coalition in Virginia. In 1998, he was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to the Board of Visitors, Virginia Commonwealth University (1998-2004). In 2007 he was appointed by Governor of Virginia to the State Board of Election to oversee the entire election process in Virginia. He also served as the first Asian American to be a member of the Virginia State Election Board as Vice Chair (2007-2011). Mr. Pyon served on Governor McDonnell’s Commission on Economic Development & Job Creation (2010-2014). He was also a reappointed Fairfax County Park Authority Board member as a Springfield representative (2008-2013).
He earned an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the Virginia Commonwealth University in and a M.S degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Virginia. He also attended the Juris Masters Certificate program through George Washington University/USPTO.
