Six Former 'Asian Boss NEXT' Students Find Success in Media Industry and Beyond

picAsian Boss is a media channel that aims to decentralize the current mainstream media and prove that anyone can join, such as by becoming a reporter who delivers news and commentaries on events in our local communities. Its mission is to inform and empower the global youth to think critically and challenge cultural stereotypes.

Asian Boss NEXT (ABN), a joint project with Asian Boss, was launched in Spring 2019 at Mason Korea as a student-led collaborative project, allowing our Korean and international students to interact meaningfully and share their cultural backgrounds and knowledge. ABN members also have the unique opportunity to be mentored by the founder of Asian Boss through workshops held on campus.

Six of our former ABN members, two of whom are now alumni, make up our inaugural class of ABN students. They had the chance to learn and report about social issues in Asia and create original content on an official platform provided by Asian Boss. Their hands-on experience and networking opportunities, coupled with their Mason education, have opened doors to diverse opportunities ranging from competitive internships to jobs in the media industry, as well as graduate school programs.
