Room Types and Rates

IGC Housing has two residence hall buildings that are divided by room type, single and double, and shared by students from all universities located at the IGC campus. 

To ensure the safety and privacy of our residents, IGC Housing is gender-segregated. Each floor/wing is designated for either males or females, and we strictly prohibit entry into areas designated for the opposite gender, in accordance with IGC regulations.

The typical residency period is 15 - 17 weeks, and the rate for a single room is approximately KRW 1,900,000, while a double room costs KRW 1,200,000 per person.

  • Provided Furnishings: Desk, chair, wardrobe, single-size mattress bed, stand, LAN cable, WiFi router, and waste bin
  • Suggested to Bring: Pillow, bedding, hangers, shower caddy, towels, slippers, hair dryer, detergent, laundry bag, umbrella, nail clippers, medications, personal electronics, study materials, etc. The aforementioned items may also be purchased in Korea. Adapters and converters (see notes below).
  • Restricted Items: Electric pads and blankets, heaters, irons, stoves, cooling fans, rice cookers, hot plates, pots, and coffee makers.

Eligibility Requirements

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements, or they may not be eligible to live on campus.

  1. Enrollment Status: Students must be enrolled in Mason Korea classes for the semester in which they wish to reside in on-campus housing.
  2. Conduct Record: Students may need to have a satisfactory conduct record with Mason Korea and IGC Housing to be eligible for on-campus housing.

 

Process

Housing applications must be submitted for the Spring and Fall semesters. Application for spring/fall residency should be submitted to the Office of University Life for review. Summer/winter residency is offered only to spring/fall residents. Residents will be able to submit applications for summer/winter residency directly to the IGC Housing.

New students have the highest priority for on-campus residency and will have a chance to apply for housing as a part of their onboarding process.

Continuing/returning students need to apply for on-campus residency and go through resident selection process. Only students selected as residents will be able to move in to the IGC Housing for the term.

Applicants must have accounts both with Mason and IGC. Make sure you have online accounts with both before submitting your application.

Application Result and Payment

Students approved for the housing residency will be notified individually. The notification will be sent to your university email account. Students selected to live on campus for the term must log in to the IGC Housing website using their IGC account credentials and access My Page to check the  following details;

  2. Payment process

 

Moving into the IGC Housing

Check-In

You must check in to the IGC Housing office before moving into your room. Check-in is available during the designated period. In general, the check-in period starts 5 - 7 days before the semester starts. The date and time for check-in will be communicated to residents 6 - 8 weeks before the first day of classes. During check-in, IGC Housing will inform you of your room number and grant you access to the residence hall.

New Student Check-In: February 13 & 14, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on each day

Continuing/Returning Student Check-In: February 14 & 15, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on each day

  • Required Documents
    1. Student ID: Personal IDs such as resident/alien registration cards or passports are also acceptable.
    2. Negative TB test result: Chest X-ray result issued within 3 months from the date of check-in.

 

Packing Information

  • Provided Furnishings: Desk, chair, wardrobe, single-size mattress bed, stand, LAN cable, wifi router, and waste bin
  • Suggested to Bring: Pillow, bedding, hangers, shower caddy, towels, slippers, hair dryer, detergent, laundry bag, umbrella, nail clippers, medications, personal electronics, study materials, etc. The aforementioned items may also be purchased in Korea. Adapters and converters (see notes below).
  • Restricted Items: Electric pads and blankets, heaters, irons, stoves, cooling fans, rice cookers, hot plates, pots, and coffee makers.

*The standard voltage in South Korea is 220V. Make sure your items are usable (e.g., dual-voltage if bringing electronics from the United States).
*Be sure to pack any adapters and converters your devices may need, with extras to spare. It is much more difficult to obtain these items from within the country.
