The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) at Mason Korea is the global extension of the CIE at the Costello College of Business. We serve as a strategic bridge between the startup ecosystems of South Korea and Northern Virginia, providing a practical pathway for students, faculty, and startups to connect with the "Silicon Valley of the East."
What We Do
1. Student Entrepreneurship
- Patriot Pitch Competition Korea (PPCK): Our premier startup pitch competition, co-hosted with Inha University and Incheon National University.
- Incheon University Consortium Startup Academy (인천 대학연합 창업아카데미): A multi-stage training and pitch program uniting 13 regional universities.
- Modoo Startup (모두의 창업): A broad platform fostering foundational startup skills, where CIE Korea participates as a strategic partner alongside Incheon National University.
2. Global Soft-Landing & Acceleration
- NISA (Northern Virginia International Soft Landing Accelerator): A U.S. market entry program backed by Virginia local governments and Naugen. We provide participating startups with mentorship, Nexus234 workspace, and investor access.
- Univ. X: A targeted regional acceleration program in partnership with Incheon Technopark (ITP), currently scaling 3 high-potential startups.
3. Research
- Data-Driven Insights: Faculty-student collaborations researching startup ecosystems and innovation policy.
