A. What Mason Korea Collects and Why

  • Routing information logs to aid law enforcement agencies if hackers attempt to breach security.
  • Transaction routing information for statistical summaries to assess site content and server performance; data is shared with business partners.

When Personal Information is no longer needed, such as when its retention period has expired or its purpose of use has been achieved, Mason Korea will dispose of such Personal Information without delay. However, the foregoing shall not apply in cases where Personal Information must be preserved in accordance with the provisions of other laws and regulations, such as in the cases listed below. In such cases, Mason Korea will store and manage such Personal Information separately from other Personal Information for the period stipulated by such laws and regulations.

  • Records concerning labels and advertisements: 6 months (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records concerning cancellation of contracts or subscriptions: 5 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records relating to payments, provision of goods or services: 7 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)
  • Records concerning consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce)

4. Processes and Methods for Destroying Personal Information

Mason Korea destroys Personal Information by using the following processes and methods:

a. Process of Destruction

Mason Korea selects the relevant Personal Information to be destroyed and destroys it with the approval of its CPO.

b. Method of Destruction

Mason Korea destroys Personal Information recorded and stored in the form of electronic files by using a technical method (e.g., low-level format) to ensure that the records cannot be reproduced, while Personal Information recorded and stored in the form of paper documents is shredded or incinerated.

5. Opt-Out

Users are not required to provide any information to the Mason Korea website, but the site will not work without routing information and essential technical information.
