Mason Korea Signs MOU with Foundation for Medical Innovation

Last week, Mason Korea Campus Dean Dr. Robert Matz signed an MOU with Han Sang-Dae, Board Chairman of the Foundation for Medical Innovation (FMI) for mutual cooperation on innovative growth in the field of medicine and life sciences. Through this partnership, Mason faculty will be providing customized training and consultation to bio industry researchers and professionals at FMI Business School.

Mason Korea’s Professor Rod Rothwell has begun teaching leadership communication and presentation courses, and Professor Vias C. Nicolaides will be leading English discussion classes for bio-health professionals. Dr. Rachael Lussos from the Fairfax campus will also be teaching courses on international regulations such as the US FDA regulations and how to write technical documents reflecting the latest trends.

"We plan to collaborate with the Korea campus of George Mason University, a top-tier research university in the U.S., share the latest R&D trends in future medicine and healthcare, and help domestic researchers enter global markets," said Han Sang-Dae, Board Chairman of FMI. "The Foundation will help maximize researcher innovation capabilities and expand global networks to continue to drive the advancement of healthcare in Korea through the patented research discovery and startup ecosystem platform called Universal Tech Organizer (UTO).”

“We are pleased to partner with FMI to contribute to fostering the next generation of bio-health researchers who will lead the future of medicine,” said Dr. Robert Matz, Campus Dean of Mason Korea. “I hope that our program led by world-class faculty at George Mason University Korea will allow many researchers with innovative ideas and technical skills to advance to the global stage.”
