Professor John Garnett’s article, "Winds of Change Plant Pathology, Transnational Wheat Rust, and the Environmental Origins of the Green Revolution, 1904-1953" has been accepted for publication in Agricultural History, a top peer-reviewed history journal in the US.
Professor Garnett, who teaches history at Mason Korea, presented part of this article at the Mason Korea Seminar Series last year. He implemented some of the questions and feedback from students and faculty who joined the seminar during the final editing process of his paper.
“I found it invaluable to present drafts of my work to the Mason Korea community," said Professor Garnett, adding, "The questions students and faculty asked me during the seminars helped me refine my work as I prepared it for the peer-review process. I view this success as a product of being part of the Mason Korea academic community.”
Professor Garnett also presented on his research on the Green Revolution at the East Asian Environmental History conference in Tokyo, Japan last year. This summer he has been accepted to speak on the Green Revolution at the World History Association’s conference in Bilbao, Spain in June and the Agricultural History Society’s conference in Stavanger, Norway in August
His article will be published in early 2023.
