A group of international students recently enjoyed a Korean cultural excursion while on a walking tour of Incheon. Led by an English-speaking tour guide, students explored major local landmarks, including Wolmido, Chinatown, Incheon Open Port, and Shinpo Market.
The all-day event was organized by the University Life office to provide an opportunity for international students to learn about Korean culture and network with peers. “I noticed that students grew more confident in going out to the local area and taking advantage of what Incheon and Korea have to offer them,” said Wonseok Park, Senior International Student Services Coordinator.
“This is my first time in Korea and this tour was a lot of fun,” said Cityana Yohannes, a freshman visiting from the Fairfax campus, adding, “It was great meeting new people and I really enjoyed the train ride because you could see the whole city from above!”
The University Life office will be offering more cultural events for the 101 international students attending Mason Korea this semester, including a Taekwondo class and a Korean seal making workshop.
