We are Chap and Sharon (Kim) Petersen, residents and business owners in Fairfax City, Virginia, where the GMU main campus is located. As business owners, we employ a number of GMU graduates. Sharon also has played violin in The Green Machine which is the GMU pep band open to community members. So we have a close relationship with the University. In 2010, Chap in his capacity as State Senator sponsored legislation to establish a new campus for GMU in Incheon, Korea. In 2022, we visited Mason Korea for the first time, meeting students and faculty. Since that time, I've been lucky to have MK students work for me in my Senate office. They are terrific ambassadors of the school.
We have been major financial donors to the University because we believe in its mission, which is tying together the USA and ROK as beacons of freedom and democracy in a world of instability. We hope you will join us.
