Mason Korea Appoints Jim Pait as New Associate Dean for Finance and Administration

Mason Korea is pleased to announce the appointment of Jim Pait as the incoming Associate Dean for Finance and Administration (ADFA). In this role, Pait will have oversight across a broad set of strategic functions, including finance, HR, IT, and facilities.

“With his wealth of budget, project management, and international experience, Jim Pait will be a fantastic addition to Mason Korea. I am looking forward to working with him,” said Campus Dean Robert Matz.

Pait joins Mason Korea after three decades of broad expertise in finance and administration, with a focus on the education sector in both the United States and internationally. Most recently, Pait served as the founding Director of Project Management at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in which he played a pivotal role in developing a comprehensive five-year strategic plan. His leadership ensured the successful implementation of strategic initiatives, contributing significantly to the College's accreditation achievements.

Previously, Pait established the Project Management Office at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar (a branch campus of Weill Cornell Medicine in Manhattan) in Doha, Qatar, enabling the PMO to be a vital component and success of the Central Administrative Leadership Team.

Prior to that role, Pait was the founding Head of Budgeting and Planning at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia, where he effectively managed the University's annual budget of $350 million and set up the Asset Management Office to oversee and manage $10 billion in physical assets.

Before Pait’s eight-year journey to the Middle East, he was the Chief Financial Officer for Duke Eye Center and the Department of Ophthalmology at Duke University School of Medicine. This role was preceded by more than a decade at Fortune 100 companies like IBM, UPS, and American Express.

Pait received his Bachelor of Science in accounting from Palm Beach Atlantic University and his MBA from Meredith College. Additionally, Pait obtained his PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.

Pait will assume his position in early January.
