Mason Korea Hosts SM Entertainment's CAO for Exclusive Lecture

With K-Pop and Korean culture continuing to attract international students to Korea and Mason Korea, the campus recently hosted a prominent figure from one of the industry's leading companies: Sung Su Lee, Chief Artists and Repertoire Officer (CAO) of SM Entertainment.

Lee was invited as a special guest speaker for Mason Korea's Distinguished Lecture Series. The event, organized by the Office of Development and Strategic Partnerships, took place at the IGC Small Theater, bringing together over 150 students, faculty, and staff.

"SM has worked hard to promote Korean culture through different media," said Lee, who provided an overview of SM Entertainment's history and its role in shaping K-Pop during his lecture. He also discussed the promotional strategies used for SM artists and the intricacies of the music production process.

Students were particularly intrigued by Lee's discussion of promotional activities abroad and the use of new technology in SM Entertainment's most recent era. During an exclusive Q&A session, students had an opportunity to ask about the global potential of the K-Pop industry and the evolving music and media market.
