Mason Korea and GM Korea Partner for Community Beautification

Mason Korea recently joined forces with General Motors Korea to revitalize a youth home in Incheon's Bupyeong area through a collaborative beautification project.

Organized by Mason Cares and the Office of Development and Strategic Partnerships, the event brought together nearly 20 Mason Korea volunteers, including Campus Dean Joshua Park, students, faculty, and staff. Among the volunteers were four international students and eight participants from the MK Way program, Mason Korea’s conditional admission program offering intensive English instruction for students.

“I was excited to participate in this project today because I have experience working in mural design from a similar volunteer project at the Smithsonian Museum,” said Victoria Gehring, a sophomore business major.

Hyewon Lee, a freshman global affairs major, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I try to volunteer often, but it is sometimes difficult to find opportunities. I was really happy to see this unique painting project organized by our school.”

Volunteers worked diligently to bring to life a mural concept designed by Mason Korea students and staff, with on-site support from the GM Korea team. This marks the second consecutive year of partnership between Mason Korea and GM Korea's mural painting project. The initiative underscores both institutions' commitment to corporate social responsibility and community engagement.
