Associate Dean Soyoung Kwon Appointed to Incheon Peace Forum Committee

As Incheon prepares to mark a major milestone in its modern history, Soyoung Kwon, Associate Dean of External Affairs and Director of the Industry-University Collaboration Foundation (IUCF) at Mason Korea, has been appointed to the Organizing Committee for the 2025 International Peace and Security Forum Incheon (IPSF Incheon 2025).

Hosted by the Incheon Metropolitan Government, the forum will take place from September 15–16 at Songdo Convensia to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Incheon Landing Operation. Under the theme “Incheon as a City of International Peace and the Future of Korea,” the event aims to serve as a global platform for exploring sustainable pathways to peace, freedom, and security in collaboration with the international community.

The IPSF Incheon 2025 Organizing Committee officially launched on July 3 at Incheon City Hall under the leadership of Incheon Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok. The 22-member committee comprises experts and leaders from various fields, including diplomacy, education, peace and security, and civil society. As a committee member, Kwon will contribute to the development of the forum’s overall structure, including program planning, invited speakers, and public engagement initiatives.

Incheon City and the Incheon Institute are jointly overseeing the planning and execution of the forum, with the Organizing Committee playing an advisory role in shaping the direction and content of the international event.

Through this appointment, Kwon brings her expertise in international relations and public diplomacy to strengthen Mason Korea’s engagement with Incheon and its role in broader civic and global initiatives.

“It’s an honor to serve on the Organizing Committee for IPSF Incheon 2025," said Kwon. "I feel a strong sense of responsibility in contributing to a forum that connects local and global communities. With Mason Korea participating as a cooperating institution, I look forward to supporting this meaningful initiative and helping to strengthen Korea–U.S. relations through continued civic and academic engagement.”
