From Mason to Coty: Jean Moe Supports the Next Generation of Global Talent

Jean Moe, an alumna of George Mason University, is currently the CEO of Coty Korea, where she leads the overall business strategy, brand development, and partnerships for a portfolio of globally recognized brands, including Gucci, Burberry, Chloé, and Calvin Klein.

Operating in one of the world’s most dynamic beauty markets, Jean focuses on growing Coty’s prestige fragrance business while connecting global brands with Korean consumers through both retail and digital channels.

Jean credits her time at George Mason University as a key influence in shaping her career and leadership style.
“The experience helped me develop a global mindset and become comfortable working across cultures,” she shares. “It also encouraged open discussion and critical thinking, which continue to guide how I lead teams today.”

As a proud Mason alumna, Jean has maintained a strong connection to the Mason community. Recently, she extended this connection in a meaningful way by welcoming George Mason Korea students as interns at Coty Korea.

“At Coty, we recently had the opportunity to host two Mason Korea interns,” Jean says. “I see strong global potential in Mason Korea students, and I wanted to provide them with hands-on experience in how a global company operates.”

Through this internship experience, students were able to gain exposure to real business environments, contributing to projects while learning how global brands are managed in a fast-paced, international market. The program reflects Jean’s belief that internships are a critical bridge between academic learning and professional growth.

Jean also highlights the key qualities she believes are essential for students preparing for global careers: a global mindset, strong communication skills, and a sense of curiosity and adaptability.
“In today’s fast-changing business environment, continuous learning is essential,” she notes.

For current students, her advice is clear:
“Think globally, even if you start locally. Build real experience through internships and projects, and most importantly, stay curious and keep learning.”

Jean’s journey from George Mason to leading a global beauty company—and now mentoring Mason Korea students—demonstrates the powerful impact of alumni engagement in shaping the next generation of global leaders.
