Dr. Roland Wilson, Coordinator of the Conflict Analysis and Resolution (CAR) Program and founder of the Peace and Conflict Studies Center Asia (PACSC Asia) at George Mason University Korea, recently shared his perspectives on conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and leadership education.
Drawing on experience in the U.S. Marine Corps, government, intelligence, and security sectors, as well as decades of work in Korea and East Asia, Dr. Wilson believes that conflict, when properly managed, can become an opportunity for growth and cooperation rather than division.
He emphasizes the importance of dialogue, strategic empathy, and emotional awareness in addressing complex global challenges. According to Dr. Wilson, sustainable peace is built through trust, mutual respect, and a deeper understanding of the human dimensions of conflict.
Through the CAR Program and PACSC Asia, Dr. Wilson is committed to preparing future leaders with the skills and mindset needed to navigate an increasingly interconnected and complex world.
