George Mason University Korea welcomed a U.S. congressional delegation, including four members of the U.S. House of Representatives and officials from the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, to its Songdo campus on July 27.
The visit was organized at the invitation of Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-Va.), who was joined by Reps. Young Kim (R-Calif.), Randy Feenstra (R-Iowa), and Michael Cloud (R-Texas), along with professional staff from the House Foreign Affairs Committee and officials from the Embassy's Economic and Public Diplomacy Sections.
Campus Dean Joshua Park and Assistant Dean for External Affairs Soyoung Kwon welcomed the delegation and introduced Mason Korea's innovative global education model. During a roundtable discussion, university leadership highlighted the campus's academic programs and discussed opportunities to strengthen educational exchange and collaboration between the United States and the Republic of Korea. The delegation also toured the campus's academic, research, and student facilities.
"It was a privilege to welcome distinguished members of Congress and the U.S. Embassy to our campus and share the innovative global education model we have built at Mason Korea," said Campus Dean Joshua Park. "We remain committed to advancing educational and research partnerships between the United States and Korea while preparing globally minded leaders for the future."
