Mason Korea welcomed three alumni working in the finance industry for a career-focused discussion, offering students firsthand insights into professional experiences, industry expectations, and career opportunities.
On October 20, 2026, Mason Korea’s Career Development Center (MK CDC), in collaboration with the Office of External Affairs, hosted Careers in Finance: Alumni Talk & Networking at the Mason Korea campus. The event connected current students with alumni working in the financial sector, providing an opportunity to learn about career paths and the transition from university to the workplace.
The event featured three Mason Korea graduates: Sang Kyun Kim (Economics, ’22) of Golub Capital, Yangwoo Kim (Management, ’22) of Russell Investments, and Young Ho Ji (Accounting, ’24) of KPEX Asset Management.
Representing different areas of the finance industry, the alumni brought a range of professional experiences to the discussion.
Sang Kyun Kim, currently working in Global Institutional Sales at Golub Capital, has developed his career in investment banking and asset management, with previous experience at KB Kookmin Bank and Hanwha Asset Management. Yangwoo Kim, who works in Sales & Client Service at Russell Investments, has a background in securities trading, overseas investments, and institutional asset management. Young Ho Ji, currently with KPEX Asset Management, has gained experience in real estate project financing, private equity, and investment management.
During the session, students explored the different opportunities available within the finance industry and gained a better understanding of the skills and experiences relevant to pursuing careers in the field. The discussion also provided an opportunity to learn about the alumni’s professional journeys and how their careers have developed since graduating from Mason Korea.
The event underscored the value of connecting students with alumni who can offer perspectives on professional life beyond the classroom. It also provided an opportunity for students to expand their networks and engage with graduates working in industries they may wish to pursue.
Through initiatives such as Careers in Finance: Alumni Talk & Networking, Mason Korea continues to bring students and alumni together, strengthening connections within the Mason community and supporting students as they prepare for their future careers.
