[IGC Housing] Fall 2020 Application Period - New Students

We would like to inform you that IGC Housing has updated the Fall 2020 IGC Housing application poster and instructions for Korean and international students. You may refer to the attached documents for reference.

 

Fall 2020 IGC Housing Application Period:

  • Monday July 13, 2020 – Friday July 24, 2020

 

Domestic (Korean) Applicant Guideline

  • Please note that all residents of Korea who have traveled abroad are required to have observed a 14-day self-quarantine prior to check in for on-campus housing.
  • You must apply with IGC housing website temporary account and verification code will be provided by GMUK Student Affairs team.
  • Room assignment will be processed after your housing application gets ‘approved’ by IGC Housing Office. You must submit TB test result and make payment in order to get ‘approved’.
  • Room assignment is handled by GMUK Student Affairs team, not IGC Housing office. If you have any inquiries regarding your room assignment, you need to contact GMUK directly.
  • You must move in within the check-in period (August16~23). If you do not check in by August 23, your application will be cancelled automatically and housing fee will be refunded automatically.

International Student Applicant Guideline

  • International students entering from outside of Korea are required to have observed the 14-day self-quarantine prior to check in for on-campus housing.
  • International students will be allowed to quarantine on-campus in specially-designated floors and should plan on arriving on campus between  August 1st ,2020 and August 10th ,2020. If you arrive on campus after August 10th, you will have to find a place for 14 days self-quarantine on your own and you will have to pay for the cost.
  • Students will not be charged a housing fee for additional weeks spent in the quarantine room. Your institution will provide more information about quarantine process upon completion of your IGC Housing application.
  • You must apply with IGC housing website temporary account and verification code will be provided by GMUK Student Affairs team.

Application Instructions:

  • You can apply on IGC Housing website in “check-in” section (https://housing.igc.or.kr).
  • In order to get your application ‘approved’ by IGC Housing office, you need to
  • fill out housing application
  • upload Chest X-Ray TB test result
  • Pay housing fee

→ You must complete the above steps by July 24th and if you miss out anyone of the three steps, your application will be cancelled automatically.

 

Required Documents: Proof of Chest X-Ray TB Test Result

You need to upload TB test result on IGC Housing website first and then submit the original copy when you check-in.

  • If you do not upload the test result or do not bring the test result on your check-in day, your housing application will be cancelled automatically or you will not be able to check-in.
  • Test result issued after May 24, 2020 and only X-ray test result will be accepted.
    • International Students Only: If you are unable to complete the Chest X-Ray TB Test in your home country, you may attach the completed form (Attachment: Chest X-Ray TB Test Exemption). After our completion of your 14-day self-quarantine, GMU Korea Student Affairs will arrange with a local medical clinic to have your Chest X-Ray TB test before check in to your original room.

  • Local Wire Transfer (via Korean Bank Account)

Virtual Account (가상계좌)

Guideline for virtual account payment system is provided by IGC Housing office.

③Account holder: Incheon Global Campus Foundation(IGCF)

*Students must send in KRW (Korean Won) to the bank account. The bank has the option to wire transfer the funds in Korean Won or US Dollars. If you are unsure regarding this step, please inform us to clarify any confusion.

Depending on the bank, students may need to visit the bank to proceed with the international wire transfer. Please note that students will be responsible for all transaction fees and surcharges incurred from the transaction. If the banks are closed amid the COVID-19 and you are unable to complete the payment, please inform us to discuss alternative options.
