Problem-Solving Workshop

A Conflict Analysis and Resolution Approach to Inter-Korean Cooperation:

From Lessons Learned to Dynamic and Hybrid Cooperative Efforts

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

The Peace and Conflict Studies Center Asia (PACSC Asia) and the Conflict Analysis and Resolution Program at George Mason University Korea, in collaboration with the Hanns Seidel Foundation Korea, would like to cordially invite you to an important Problem-solving Workshop (PSW) to be held on 21 April 2021. The focus of this first PSW of 2021 is on key dynamic and hybrid efforts to create a more peace-positive and sustainable environment on the Korean Peninsula. Furthermore, this PSW is based on key lessons learned and takeaways from a PSW conducted in the fall of 2020.

This PSW will bring together up to 50 participants (citizens, students, and scholars from across the Korean Peninsula and abroad) to discuss practical ways to develop a new comprehensive framework that fully integrates sustainable development initiatives with conflict resolution and peace work ongoing and future inter-Korean cooperative endeavors.

Finally, the participants will be given the opportunity to engage in professionally facilitated group discussions to brainstorm ideas for new approaches and projects to advance goals of sustainability, peace, and democracy on the Korean Peninsula.

We fully believe these collaborative efforts are critical for sustained positive change to occur in support of future Korean reunification.
