Abstract:

Environmental policy in the US has shown two distinct trends these days. One is the expansion of presidential powers in defining national environmental policies and priorities, and the other is policy oscillations depending on which party wins the presidency. Will these patterns be similarly seen in the Yoon administration? Will the 2050 carbon-neutral goal be intact regardless of the administration change in South Korea?

Taking a comparative policy analysis approach, this special lecture discusses and attempts to answer such interesting questions. It also  brainstorms the direction of the Yoon administration's environmental and climate policies.
