Dr. David Powers Corwin will be giving a talk on "The Importance of Feminist Rhetorical Analysis of Relationships in #Metoo Discourse with Dr. David Powers Corwin"

The #metoo movement has brought lots of awareness to issues related to gender-based violence, sexual violence, and other conversations related to consent and boundaries. However, we often leave out the violence that can happen due to rhetorical moves and situations. Furthermore, we often only focus on relationships that center romantic attachment and familial relations when other relationships such as friendships and mentoring relationships can also facilitate rhetorically situational violence. In this talk, I will discuss my work on the allegations against Michael Kimmel from his students and the Kavanaugh-Ford hearing and how friendships are important for how that case was rhetorically formed.
