The talk will address how US policy has changed under President Trump towards the major nuclear proliferation challenges of North Korea and Iran. It will try to explain the underlying reasons why the two approaches are so different, taking into account regional policies as well as nonproliferation policies. It will include analysis of how the Iran nuclear agreement of 2015 could still be a relevant and useful model for the challenge of the DPRK's nuclear weapons program.
