Mason Korea Welcomes Record Number of International Students

Mason Korea welcomed its largest cohort of international students to date with over 120 students, marking a 7% increase from the previous spring. Nearly 50 of these students are participants in Mason's Global Gateway program, freshmen from George Mason's US campus studying abroad at Mason Korea.

Mason Korea has witnessed a steady uptrend in international students over the years, with a growing number of students opting for a full four-year enrollment at Mason Korea.

Among the various destinations offered by the Global Gateway program, four out of ten students choose Mason Korea. Last month, these Gateway students enjoyed a warm welcome and participated in several excursions in Incheon and Seoul offered through Mason’s Global Education Office.

“The trip was really fun, 10/10 overall, and I would definitely recommend it to others," said LaToya Lawhorn, a Gateway student who arrived at Mason Korea with her father. "Korea has always been one of the places I wanted to visit, so being able to live here and pursue my education at the same time was a deal for me! I hope to improve my Korean while I’m here, as I've been learning it for the past three years.”
