George Mason's Korea Campus dean reflects on some of the ways the Korea campus can support the education of all George Mason University students.

This semester Mason professors Jihye Lim, located in Korea, and Jennifer Ashley, located in Fairfax, co-taught Mason Korea's first cross-continental synchronous course, a section of GLOA 101 Introduction to Global Affairs.

Kelly Byrd, a junior majoring in Foreign Languages with a concentration in Korean Studies, is a study abroad student from Mason’s Fairfax campus. She is currently interning at the Industrial-University Collaboration Foundation (IUCF) at Mason Korea, where she has the opportunity to work using Korean while helping connect professors with research opportunities.

Seihoon Lee, a junior business major at Mason Korea, recently won second place at a university business plan competition called “Growth to Professional” run by EY Korea and JA Korea. After successfully pitching a business plan to EY consultants, his team placed second among ten teams, resulting in a hard-earned 600,000 KRW award.

Saeyeon Kwon is a senior Global Affairs major with a minor in Conflict Analysis and Resolution. She is currently working as a public administration intern at the United Nations Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), a subsidiary office of the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) under the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).

George Mason's Antonin Scalia Law School provided a springboard for a successful legal career in the US and Korea.

Hea Su Lee graduated last summer with a bachelor’s in Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Governance and a minor in Journalism. She will soon be embarking to London to pursue her passions at the London School of Economics (LSE), where she was admitted to the highly ranked Media and Communications graduate program.

George Mason University has begun providing vaccines to Mason students, staff, and faculty. All Mason Korea students arriving to the Fairfax campus in August will be eligible for vaccination. Vaccination is free for all members of the community.
