A Tribute to Yorgun Marcel

After five years of dedication and service to Mason Korea, Associate Dean for University Life Yorgun Marcel wrapped up his final semester at Mason Korea this December.

Marcel is one of the pioneers of Mason Korea, having joined the University only three years after its opening. Before Marcel joined, there was no separate student affairs office. Marcel came and established the Office of University Life, expanding the Office to include the Career Development Center, student leadership activities, and a range of student-focused programs and resources.

"Associate Dean Marcel has had a substantial and lasting impact on Mason Korea. I am thankful for the terrific and really transformative work he has done here and have greatly enjoyed working with him," said Robert Matz, Campus Dean.  "We wish him the best on his new position at the American University of Cairo."

In honor of Marcel's last semester at Mason Korea, the University's official student-led media outlet The Voice interviewed Marcel in "33 questions with Dean Yorgun Marcel."
