Mason Korea and INTO Mason have joined forces with South Korea's Local Government Officials Development Institute (LOGODI) to launch an executive education program tailored for Korean government officials.
The three-week program, held from May 15 to June 2, provided comprehensive global leadership and business education to a cohort of 25 officials. The inaugural program began at Mason Korea for the first week and concluded at Mason's Fairfax campus.
During the initial week, the officials engaged in a diverse range of courses focused on business English, communication, and globalization. The courses were led by Mason Korea faculty Eunmee Lee, Vias Nicolaides, Melissa Bruce, Eunhee Seo, Theresa Bloodworth, Richard Prasad, Denia Fraser, Antonio Covello, Joshua Lindenbaum, Claude Drolet, and Gyu Tag Lee.

To enrich the immersive English communication experiences, Mason Korea’s international students, including Angela Mandizvida, Alexandria Lasswell, Kyairra Washington, Arman Majoor, Julianne Porter, Nicole Struzinsky, Nyah Jackson, Esha Sharma, Laura Emery, and Rita Windt, also joined the program and interacted with the trainees.
“I joined this program so that I could converse with native Koreans, and I learned a lot from them,” said Kyairra Washington, a freshman visiting from the Fairfax campus.
"Having collaborated with Tasha Troy at the Fairfax campus on leadership training programs during her time teaching in Korea, we strived to create an inspiring and motivational program for our trainees,” said Eunmee Lee, who spearheaded the program at Mason Korea. “We actively communicated while developing a curriculum that would ensure a sense of continuity between the two campuses."
As part of the program, the officials made site visits to the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) office and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in Songdo, enhancing their practical understanding of relevant institutions.
The subsequent two weeks unfolded in Fairfax, Virginia, where participants continued their studies in Business English with the guidance of Mason faculty and staff. Additionally, they explored key sites within the greater Washington, D.C. region.
“This is an example of the unique opportunity Mason has to share the skills people need to be world-class leaders,” said Tasha M. Troy, the INTO Mason instructor who led the program in Fairfax. “It shows what Mason can do when different departments, schools, and campuses collaborate to create a highly engaging and relevant training program.”
