English Professor Gives Lecture on Milton’s Paradise Lost in Incheon

Mason Korea English Professor Hyunyoung Cho recently delivered a lecture on John Milton's epic poem, Paradise Lost to an audience of 30 high school students, parents, and local residents in Incheon’s Jung-gu district. This lecture was part of the “World Literature Program” organized by the Incheon Office of Education East Asia Global Education.

Cho discussed the theme of human growth and self-discovery through the lens of Adam and Eve’s original sin in Paradise Lost. To help audiences better understand the classic text, she associated it with the Korean drama "Goblin."

The lecture sparked a dynamic discussion, with a high school student participant stating, “It was impressive to connect Paradise Lost with the drama "Goblin," set in Incheon Jung-gu.”
