This course offers an integration of theory, research and practice to provide a foundation for understanding conflicts across interpersonal, organizational, community, inter-group, national and international scales. The course investigates conflict theories, lenses, models, strategies, and modes of practice that function as a grounding for subsequent courses in the curriculum and explores some of the key contemporary debates in the field. The course includes opportunities for learning practical skills, introducing conflict analytics, theories of change, assessments, and approaches to research and evaluation. It encourages students to link theory to practice by offering experiential learning activities. Offered by Conflict Analysis & Resolution. May not be repeated for credit.

Enrollment limited to students with a class of Advanced to Candidacy, Graduate, Junior Plus, Non-Degree or Senior Plus.
Students in a Non-Degree Undergraduate degree may not enroll.
Enrollment limited to students in the Carter Peace & Conflict Res or College of Public Health colleges.
