Climate change, climate modeling, ice sheet modeling, climate predictability
Emilia Jin is a Director of Department of Policy & Partnership at the Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI), and also Principal Research Scientist. Her research interests include the future prediction of climate change and extreme events based on ice sheet modeling, climate modeling and climate predictability. She is an expert member of National Response Council of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a group leader of SCAR INSTANT Clip-Ant, and editor of the Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics published by Springer Nature. Recently she received the Presidential Award in recognition of her contribution to national science promotion from the Government of the Republic of Korea. Prior to joining KOPRI, she has worked as an assistant professor in the Department of Atmospheric-Oceanic-Earth Sciences, College of Science on the Fairfax campus.
