Soyoung Kate Chun

Sr. Academic Operations Coordinator

I have a background in corporate learning and development, program coordination, and higher education, with professional experience in both Korea and Canada.

Before joining Mason Korea, I worked at the University of British Columbia’s Faculty of Medicine, where I coordinated medical education and training programs for UBC medical learners and preceptors across multiple clinical sites in Vancouver. My role involved annual program and curriculum planning, managing day-to-day program operations, coordinating with learners and faculty, developing educational resources, and using program evaluation and data to support continuous improvement.

Prior to my work in higher education, I spent six years as a Global Learning & Development Program Specialist at a major Korean conglomerate. I planned, coordinated, and delivered corporate learning programs, with a particular focus on global competency development and expatriate readiness.

Education

Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Adult Learning and Education — University of British Columbia (UBC)

During my graduate studies, I developed a deeper understanding of adult learning theories and principles, with a particular interest in how effective learning programs can be designed and evaluated in workplace settings.
