Trinity J Green

What was the most impactful class you took in your major?

The most impactful class I took in my major was Economic History. It was the perfect blend of my two academic interests, and I feel like I learned a lot about how economic structures and circumstances affected history and vice versa.

The most impactful classes I took in my minor were History of Germany and Modern Russia and the Soviet Union. The professors were knowledgeable and passionate about the courses, and I learned a great deal about the complexity of history and how the lessons learned in the past can be applied to the present.

What activities were you involved in during your time at Mason that impacted you?

I was the treasurer for the Formula Watch club. I got to know my fellow officers and club members, and we worked together to create a small community of motorsport fans at George Mason. It was an amazing experience to be able to sit, chat, and watch races with people who shared my interest and brought their own passions for the different teams and drivers in the sport. I met some amazing people as part of the club, and I am so grateful I joined! Additionally, I pursued an honors thesis exploring the economic implications of policies affecting healthcare. It's a controversial topic in American politics, and I wanted to explore how labor outcomes, educational attainment, and the market for healthcare services were affected by different pieces of legislation around the country at both the federal and state levels.

What is your most memorable moment at George Mason inside or outside of the classroom?

It's hard to choose one moment, so I'll just say that any moments spent with friends, lunches in the Johnson Center, walks between classes, watch parties with Formula Watch, have been the most memorable. Sometimes the mundane moments are the most enjoyable, and I'm so grateful to have met and spent time with all sorts of different people during my time at George Mason.

As you are reflecting on your time at George Mason, what is one piece of advice you would give a student who is just starting off on their George Mason journey?

One piece of advice I would give a student is to not feel scared of how big George Mason is. George Mason has thousands upon thousands of students from all walks of life. It's easy to feel like a small fish in a big pond. But there are so many opportunities to connect with people—in class, in clubs, or even in the JC as you pass through. Embrace the icebreakers at the beginning of the semester in your classes, compliment that person's shirt, and keep an eye out on campus or on Mason360 for event advertisements. You will find your people and your niche!

What is your next step after graduation? What are your future plans?

I will be attending law school and pursuing a career as an intellectual property attorney!
