Dr. Eunmee Lee Appointed to Yeonsu-gu Lifelong Education Committee

Dr. Eunmee Lee, an Associate Professor of English for Academic Purposes at Mason Korea, has been appointed to the Yeonsu-gu Lifelong Education Committee. Representing the Incheon Global Campus (IGC) universities, Dr. Lee will serve on the committee from August 2024 to July 2026.

The Committee is an advisory board that supports the Incheon Yeonsu district’s continuing and lifelong education initiatives. The committee works closely with various organizations to develop and implement programs for adult learners.

As part of her new role, Dr. Lee will deliver the opening lecture for the Yeonsu Women’s Life College, a continuing education program for women, on August 28. Her lecture, titled "To the Ocean of Lifelong Education: A Fish Jumping Out of the Fishbowl," will emphasize the importance of continuous learning in today's rapidly changing world.

Dr. Lee, who also directs Mason Korea's Academic Resource Center, has a strong history of educational leadership in Incheon. She spearheaded the Incheon Citizen Life College at Mason Korea and has been involved in mentoring programs for local K-12 students. Her dedication to education was recognized this past spring when she became the first faculty member at Mason Korea to receive the Presidential Award for Faculty Excellence.

"I am excited to share George Mason University's educational philosophy with the Yeonsu-gu community," said Dr. Lee. "By working together, we can enrich lives and strengthen our community."
