This course is designed to help improve your abilities to read, write, think, and research at a college level and to effectively engage with public and academic audiences. It will provide you with the skills and mindsets needed to analyze and respond to a range of rhetorical situations (writing in various genres for different audiences and purposes); engage in in-depth inquiry and writing processes; locate, evaluate, and synthesize source material to discover and answer complex questions; and reflect on what you are learning, as well as on your own research and writing processes. This course is also likely to challenge your ideas about writing and inquiry.
