Assistant Professor of Economics

George Mason University, Korea (Mason Korea) invites applications for a position in Economics at the assistant rank starting Spring 2022 (February). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in economics and be prepared to teach introductory courses on macroeconomics and microeconomics, as well as upper division electives including international economic policy.  Competitive candidates will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.  Experience and enthusiasm for teaching an international student population is a plus. 

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. Assistant Professor of Computational and Data Sciences (CDS)

George Mason University, Korea, invites applications for a full-time position in Computational and Data Sciences at the assistant rank, starting in February 2022. The individual serving in this position will be responsible for teaching intermediate and advanced courses in computational and data sciences. Service activities will include coordinating with course developers in the CDS department in the U.S. as well as supporting Mason Korea as an academic unit. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The expected term is one year, with further opportunity for renewal and multi-year contracts.

Minimum qualifications:

  • D. in Computational, Data Sciences, or a related field
  • Experience in teaching courses in scientific databases and scientific and statistical visualization
  • Evidence of teaching excellence at the college level

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in teaching with R, Python, Matlab, Fortran, and MySQL
  • Experience in developing course materials.

Assistant Professor of Communication

George Mason University Korea invites applications for a position in Communication at the assistant rank starting Spring 2022 (February).  The person hired in this position will teach COMM 101: Fundamentals of Communication and other Communication courses that meet the curricular needs of Mason Korea.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Communication
  • Experience teaching communication as part of a standardized general education program
  • Evidence of teaching excellence

Preferred qualification:

  • Experience teaching multilingual learners
