1) Assistant/Associate Professor, Global Affairs

George Mason University, Korea (GMUK), invites applications for a full-time position in Global Affairs at the assistant or associate rank starting Fall semester, 2020 (August). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the social or environmental sciences at time of hire and show a strong commitment to multi-disciplinary perspectives on global issues and society. Competitive candidates must be qualified to teach introductory courses on Global Affairs and more advanced courses on global economy and management, global governance, and media, communication and culture, or environmental studies. Competitive candidates will also demonstrate a proven track record of excellence in teaching and research appropriate for their rank.

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The compensation package is competitive, and all international hires include support for relocation expenses, furnished housing, home leave allowance, health insurance in Korea’s excellent health care system, and dependent tuition benefit. The expected term is one year, with the opportunity for renewal and multi-year contracts.

2) Assistant/Associate Professor, Economics

George Mason University, Korea (GMUK), invites applications for a position in Economics at the assistant or associate rank starting Fall 2020 (August). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in economics and be prepared to teach introductory courses on macroeconomics and microeconomics, as well as upper division electives including international economic policy, econometrics or other topics.  Competitive candidates will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and research.

3) Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Game Design

George Mason University, Korea (GMUK), invites applications for a full-time position in Computer Game Design at the assistant or associate rank beginning Fall semester, 2020 (August). Candidates must possess a master’s degree and be knowledgeable about all facets of the game design field, including technical, managerial and artistic advances.  Significant professional and industry experience in computer game design is a plus. They must be prepared to teach introductory and intermediate courses in computer game design.  Competitive candidates will have a proven track record of excellence in teaching and/or industry experience.

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. 4) Assistant/Associate Professor of Business

George Mason University, Korea (GMUK), invites applications for a full-time position teaching Business Foundations at the assistant or associate rank beginning Fall semester, 2020 (August). Faculty with multidisciplinary backgrounds within the Business Foundations area teach undergraduate courses that engage students with a range of contemporary business contexts, using a liberal education approach, and provide a foundation for success in the major courses and in the professional work environment. Foundations courses provide context and skills in the following areas: how to succeed in college; the role of business and its impact on society; career development skills; professionalism and preparation for the workplace; the global environment of business; and the legal environment of business. Competitive candidates will have demonstrated strong commitment to and excellence in teaching. A Ph.D. is preferred, but not necessary if the candidate has a Master’s degree with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate work in business or a related field. Ideally, the successful candidate will also be qualified to teach additional courses in an area of specialty, such as Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems or Information Systems and Operations Management.
