Bora Kim brings nearly 20 years of experience across Canada and South Korea, beginning her career in public relations before advancing into higher education leadership. Throughout her career, she has led diverse teams and initiatives across the full spectrum of the university ecosystem—supporting students and faculty through roles in the International Student Centre, Student Accessibility Services, Teaching & Learning Commons, Tutoring Center, and the Office of International Affairs. She has also overseen academic administration for a wide range of disciplines, including Medicine, Business, Applied Sciences & IT, Health Sciences, and Law-related programs, giving her a deep understanding of institutional operations and student success strategies.
Bora held progressive leadership roles at NAIT and the University of Alberta in Canada, followed by leadership in global engagement and partnerships at CHA University in Korea. Currently at George Mason University Korea, she serves as Manager of the Career Development Center, leading early-stage career advising, internship coordination, and employer engagement for first- and second-year students, as well as the international student community. While in Canada, she also mentored immigrant women transitioning into the workforce and was an active member of the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources of Alberta.
Outside the office, Bora is known for her sweet tooth and her curiosity—constantly exploring pop-up shops, lifestyle trends, and hidden dessert gems wherever she goes.
Education
Bora completed graduate-level studies in Interdisciplinary Studies at Royal Roads University (Canada), specializing in Higher Education Leadership and Conflict Analysis and Management. She also pursued professional training in Human Resources Management at NAIT (Canada) and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Advertising & Public Relations, with a minor in Business Administration (Marketing), from Hanshin University (South Korea).
