Operations Manager, Academic Affairs

Seongyeon is responsible for managing the operations of the Academic Affairs. Her key duties include coordinating the course planning and scheduling for upcoming semesters in adherence to academic calendar, overseeing the course registration process for students, and preparing comprehensive reports on student enrollment, progression, and retention as needed. In addition, she engages in various new and ongoing academic projects and events in close collaboration with faculty, students, and staff across different offices within Mason community.

Prior to joining Mason Korea, Seongyeon worked as a program manager at Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS), a non-profit foundation established by SK Group. At KFAS, she was responsible for designing and overseeing various initiatives aimed at empowering young students and mid-career professionals to cultivate their global leadership capabilities. This included managing scholarship programs, educational programs, and international forums. Before joining KFAS, Seongyeon served as the program coordinator at the National Institute for International Education (NIIED), under the Korean Ministry of Education. At NIIED, she managed the student selection of Global Korea Scholarship, a Korean government-funded degree program. She also served as the public relations specialist of GKS program and participated in international education fairs and events hosted by embassies and organizations to promote the program and execute its mission.

Education

Seongyeon received a B.A. in Economics from Smith College, MA, USA and an M.A. in International Education Policy Analysis from Stanford University, CA, USA.
