Director, Student Services and Career Development Center

Sangyong is the Director of Career Development Center and an adjunct faculty member for career development. In his role as adjunct faculty, he teaches courses related to career development and provides guidance and mentorship to students seeking career advice.

As the director, Sangyong is responsible for developing and implementing career readiness programs and initiatives that are aligned with the changing needs of the job market and educational landscape. Additionally, Sangyong plays a key role in cultivating relationships with employers and corporate partners to expand opportunities for students and increase their exposure to different industries and career paths. This includes developing and executing effective strategies that attract employers to Mason Korea and promote the hiring of Mason Korea students for internships and full-time positions.

Sangyong joins us from Pyeongtaek University, where he served as the Senior Program Manager over seven years. He provided counselling services and lectures as he managed multiple Human Resource Development (HRD) programs (e.g., workshops, fairs, and other formal and informal meetings). He appeared on several TV programs to share his expertise in writing personal statements and interview preparation. Prior to joining Pyeongtaek University, Sangyong served as the Program Manager for the City of Incheon for three years, collaborating with the United Nations (UN) to coordinate international conferences such as the 66th Session of UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in 2010, the 4th Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (AMCDRR) by UNISDR in 2010, and the Global Model UN (GMUN) in 2011. He received the Ministry of Interior Award for successfully coordinating the 4th AMCDRR in 2010.

Sangyong earned his master's degree in international studies from Yonsei University, wherein he also studied at California State University, Long Beach.
