Accelerated Masters Degrees
A Streamlined Path to a US Master’s Degree
Studying at George Mason University Korea provides a unique opportunity to earn a master’s degree from George Mason University in as little as five years. These accelerated master's programs, often referred to as BAMs (for Bachelor's/Accelerated Master's) allow qualified and motivated students to take up to four graduate courses in the course of their undergraduate programs, making it possible to complete the rest of the master’s degree in just a year following the undergraduate degree.
Accelerated master's programs allow students to
- Take advantage of a streamlined application process for a graduate program with no application fee.
- Start their graduate degrees with up to 12 credits earned while still undergraduates.
- Apply an additional six graduate credits to be held as reserve graduate credit (applicable only to the graduate degree).
- Save on tuition by taking some graduate courses at the lower undergraduate tuition rate.
Mason Korea students interested in accelerated master's program extend the 3 + 1 Mason Korea curriculum into a 3 + 2 curriculum. You'll complete some of your graduate courses while in your 7th and 8th semesters in the US and then stay an additional year in the US to complete your master's degree. Because you’ll do the year of graduate work in the US, you’ll enjoy two years studying at George Mason in Virginia.
