Commencement Student Speaker Selection
Share Your Mason Story!
Are you graduating this June? Do you want to represent the Class of 2026 by sharing your journey, growth, and George Mason University experience? We are looking for a student speaker to deliver the commencement address on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the IGC Small Theater, 5th of Multi-Complex Building.

Speaker Details
- Eligibility: All students graduating in Spring or Summer 2026 are invited to apply.
- Speech Length: The final speech must be 3 to 4 minutes long.
- Support: The selected speaker will work closely with the committee chair to draft and refine their script and receive coaching and rehearsal opportunities.

To be considered for this honor, simply send an email expressing your interest to Professor Jason Kifer at jkifer@gmu.edu by the deadline below. No formal draft is required at this stage.
Important Timeline
- Deadline to Email Interest: Wednesday, May 13 (by noon)
- Speaker Announced: Friday, May 15
- Speech preparation, refinement, & rehearsal: May 18 - June 16
