This course introduces students to essential environmental science principles and methods. It is a lecture-based, 3-credit course designed to introduce students to environmental science through integrated biological, chemical, physical, and earth science perspectives. As a Mason Core Natural Science course, it emphasizes scientific reasoning through structured field observation, reflection, and in-class engagement. Students will gain observational fluency and theoretical understanding without conducting formal experiments, ensuring a clear, stand-alone experience apart from EVPP 109 lab coursework.
