Eligibility Requirements

Students must meet the following eligibility requirements, or they may not be eligible to apply for housing.

  • Students may need to have a satisfactory conduct record with Mason Korea and IGC Housing.
  • Students who are registered for the 2026 Spring semester are eligible to apply. Students on a leave of absence for Spring 2026 or graduates are not eligible.
  • Students enrolled in the 2026 Summer semester OR working on campus are eligible to apply. Additionally, students who are working on campus need to inform the GMUK Housing Office about their employment status.

  • Please double-check the IGC Housing notice board for the summer housing announcement, as break housing is processed by IGC.
  • Extending residents are those who are currently living in IGC housing for Spring 2026.
  • Extending residents are also required to check in during the designated period. If you fail to do so, your housing application will be canceled.
  • Even though you are an extending resident, please note that you may need to move rooms at least one time due to facility maintenance.
  • New residents must check in on the designated check-in date during working hours (10 AM–5 PM; break: 12 PM–1 PM).
  • For a double room, please note that you may be assigned a roommate from a different university.

Important

  • To complete the application, payment must be made promptly after submitting the online application. If not paid, the application is considered incomplete.
  • Since the room availability is on a rolling basis, we highly suggest students apply as soon as possible once the application starts to avoid any issues.

 

About Fall Semester Extended Stay (Extension Period: August 10 - August 23, 2026)

  • This option is only available if you apply for AND obtain residency for the same room type (single or double) for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Although your extension request is approved, please note that you may need to move rooms due to facility maintenance.
  • The application period for stay extensions will be announced later by IGC Housing.

Applicants must have accounts both with Mason and IGC. Make sure you have online accounts with both before submitting your application.

Application Process

Step 1: Apply Online
  1. Go to the IGC Housing website.
  2. Click "Check in/out"
  3. Click "Check in Apply"
Step 2: Pay for Housing

After applying online, finish your housing payment to complete the application process. (Virtual Account Payment Guideline)

  1. Log in to IGC Housing website -> My Page -> Check - in -> "Modify" Button
  2. Sign after checking the agreement form, and click the "Attach" button
  3. Click "Submission and payment" Button
  4. Create a virtual bank account to make your payment (Virtual Account Payment Guideline)
  5. After paying, IGC Housing will notify your application status via Mason email.

Application Result and Payment

Students approved for the housing residency will be notified individually by IGC Housing. The notification will be sent to your university email account. Students selected to live on campus for the term must log in to the IGC Housing website using their IGC account credentials and access My Page to check the following details;

  2. Payment process

 

Check-In

All residents must check in to the IGC Housing office before moving into their room. Check-in is available during the designated period. During check-in, IGC Housing will inform you of your room number and grant you access to the residence hall.

Check-In (New Residents): 10 AM - 5 PM, July 6, 2026 (Break Time: 12 PM - 1 PM)

Required Documents

  1. Personal ID: Student ID (recommended), or other personal IDs such as resident/alien registration cards or passports are also acceptable.
  2. Negative TB test result*: Printed Chest X-ray result issued within 3 months from the date of check-in.
    * Students who resided in IGC Housing during Spring 2026 are exempt from submitting the TB test result.

 

Packing Information

  • Provided Furnishings: Desk, chair, wardrobe, single-size mattress bed, stand, LAN cable, wifi router, and waste bin
  • Suggested to Bring: Pillow, bedding, hangers, shower caddy, towels, slippers, hair dryer, detergent, laundry bag, umbrella, nail clippers, medications, personal electronics, study materials, etc. The aforementioned items may also be purchased in Korea. Adapters and converters (see notes below).
  • Restricted Items: Electric pads and blankets, heaters, irons, stoves, cooling fans, rice cookers, hot plates, pots, and coffee makers.

*The standard voltage in South Korea is 220V. Make sure your items are usable (e.g., dual-voltage if bringing electronics from the United States).
*Be sure to pack any adapters and converters your devices may need, with extras to spare. It is much more difficult to obtain these items from within the country.
