Bulletin Boards and Branding

Mason Korea Bulletin Board Policy

The Mason Korea bulletin boards are reserved for university departments, registered student groups, IGC partners, and approved off-campus partners. Individual students, non-registered student groups, and unaffiliated organizations may not use the noticeboards. Please note that the left-side board is for semi-permanent flyers, and the right-side board is for short-term flyers.

1. Paper Size Restriction: All notices and materials posted on the bulletin board must be A4. If the poster is bigger than A4, you can only post on the other boards on the 1st and 4th floors. An exception can be made for special activities.

2. University Life Approval Stamp: All posted posters must have a University Life stamp.

3. Language Requirement: All posted materials must be in English. You can attach a version in each language if you wish to provide information in both English and Korean. However, it is essential to include an English version for universal understanding.

4. Only the University Life staff can add or remove posters.

5. Posting Material: Please only use magnets to post flyers, and please only post on the board surface. Do not use tape, and do not tape to the wall.

Poster Submission Process

  1. Digital Poster Submissions: All digital poster requests must be submitted through the Mason360 Poster Submission Form.
    1. Submission deadline: Every Friday by 4:00 PM.
    2. Posters will be printed and posted by the Office of University Life the following Monday.
    3. Only finalized designs in PDF format will be accepted.
    4. All posters will be reviewed and stamped before posting.

  2. Posting Period: The maximum time for posting flyers on the bulletin boards near the elevators is 14 days. For semi-permanent flyers, the left-side boards by the elevators and other boards on the 1st and 4th floors will be used. Notices of events will be removed after those events have occurred.

Student Organization Branding Guidelines

  • Student organizations are prohibited from using trademarked images on posters, merchandise, or digital communications.
    • Trademarks include Mason, Mason Korea, George Mason, George Mason University, George Mason University Korea, and Patriots.
    • Images of the Patriot mascot, university logo, or university seal are forbidden, including email signatures (except in approved university intern roles).
  • Groups cannot call themselves “Mason Korea Organization Name” but only “Organization Name at Mason Korea.”
  • GMUK is an outdated brand name and should not be used.
  • When posting Events on Mason360, please use the tag “Mason Korea Campus” and title the event “Mason Korea Event Name” to distinguish it from Fairfax events.

ADDITIONAL NOTE:

  • If posters are printed materials received from external sources, they may be brought to the Office of University Life in G413 for stamping and then posted directly.
