Commuter Student Programs
Commuter Resources
A “commuter student” is defined as a student who does not live in an on-campus property and has to commute to campus each day for classes. Students NOT considered commuters are those who live in the residence halls.
Q: How can I make social connections on campus?
A: Joining a student organization, inviting a classmate to join you after class for studying or a coffee break, and sharing contact information with classmates to propose a study group are all great ways to start building social connections across campus.
Q: How can I make time for on-campus activities?
A: Arrive on campus an hour or two before your classes start to get an early start to the day. Consider getting an on-campus job, which will often have understanding bosses and co-workers and a flexible evening schedule. Build time into your class schedule to allow you to spend extra time on campus in a place you enjoy
Q: How can I share concerns and suggestions about my commuting experience?
A: The commuter student survey is open all semester any time you have suggestions. You can also schedule an appointment with Lauren Poindexter in University Life or visit with the Student Government.
Not having a residential space on campus can seem inconvenient but Mason Korea and the Incheon Global Campus have a variety of spaces where commuting students can build their home away from home.
