This introductory course in Environmental Science provides a foundational understanding of the physical, biological, and social elements that interact within Earth’s ecosystems. We’ll explore the principles that govern environmental systems, emphasizing the scientific methods used to analyze and interpret environmental issues. The course begins with an exploration of fundamental environmental science principles, followed by an examination of ecosystem dynamics, nutrient cycling, biodiversity, and human-environment interactions. Moving toward applied perspectives, students will engage with issues of environmental health, sustainable resource use, energy management, and climate change. Through a blend of lectures, hands-on labs, and fieldwork, students will build skills in data analysis, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry, empowering them to assess and address real-world environmental challenges.
