Canvas & Blackboard

Canvas will replace Blackboard Learn as the University’s enterprise learning management system. The roll-out will start with a pilot in summer 2024 and the first significant wave of courses to be offered in Canvas will be fall 2024. The spring 2025 semester will be the final semester any courses will be offered in Blackboard, as it will be retired in July 2025.

You can learn how to use Blackboard’s basic and higher order functions by consulting the student Blackboard technology support web page maintained by Mason’s Information and Technology Services Department.  If you encounter problems using Blackboard, contact Mason’s ITS Support Center by email (support@gmu.edu). If you need additional help, you can book some time with Prof. Kimberlie Fair (kfair2@gmu.edu) who has kindly agreed to help with especially difficult problems.
